Massage Therapy is the hands-on treatment of the soft tissues in the human body including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. The massage therapist uses gentle hand pressure to manipulate the tissues. Massage Therapy focuses on the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain.

Experiencing sore or tight muscles is normal after a massage, especially if it has been a while since your last massage or you’ve never had one before. Massage is like exercise. It forces blood into the muscle, bringing nutrients and removing toxins.

Number of treatments varies based on the indication, its severity and how the patient’s body reacts to the treatment. Number of treatments can therefore be anywhere between 5 and 12, more in very severe cases. Contact your Therapist to see how many treatments you might need.

Most indications require 1–3 treatments per week which are done every second day, depending on the patient’s tolerance and their tissue response.

It is recommended that patients refrain from physical activity, especially one that would involve the treated region, for about 24 hours following each treatment session.
